Poems from Class

Last night in class, our professor had us write some poems. He encouraged us to have students use poems too in all subjects (including Science). Cool idea.

Here were a few of mine with the topic of "happiness."

Arrival

The plane has landed. 

It’s been a year

or longer

I don’t know.

I don’t care.

Their familiar faces waiting

looking, peeking above the crowd

I run past the gate

hugging, 

tears bursting out.

It’s me crying

happiness. 

Going Steady

He’s awkward 

mumbles unclearly

I can’t catch it. 

We walk to the car

hand in hand. 

“I like you...

a lot”  

He spits out nervously. 

I smile. 

“And?” I ask

Knowing, waiting. 

Happy, full heart.
